Welcome to Room for Home

Room for Home is one of the many social projects operated by One Church Brighton, where we help people create a home through up-cycling and creative workshops, as we believe we are all affected by our surroundings, and that there is no space more important than our home – it is the base from which we ‘do life’.

We also believe that the process is as important as the end result - that in addition to improving your surroundings, making something yourself that you can feel proud of, can have a positive impact on your health and wellbeing.

Our mission is to provide fun workshops to help people learn new skills - making things for their home - often from discarded or overlooked items, and turning them into beautiful or useful things that will be loved and cherished.

We deliver funded workshops primarily to those who have experienced homelessness; disadvantaged families; and young people. We are always keen, however, to explore how we may be able to help others who would benefit from our services.

We can also provide support on a 1-2-1 basis, for those who just need a helping hand to realise the potential of their living space and make it a place they are happy to be in.

We run small group sessions for people to learn new upcycling skills, helping them create beautiful things.

Who We Help

A key area of our focus is to support those who have experienced homelessness, disadvantaged families and young people through our workshops.
